Wow! Never figured anyone would hate the 7" Sony Japan SACD packaging to this degree as I love them. To each his/her own.
They are absolutely exquisite. Can’t wait to pick up a copy of Love Devotion Surrender. Caravanserai is one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard (or seen, given the 7” packaging)! I hope Sony Japan keeps ‘em coming.

I love the 7" packaging! It fits in perfect with my Quad reel tapes and 45 RPM records!
Print quality and the foil jackets are stunners. But I simply buy 1/2 of the titles that I would normally buy due to the double price point. I can only justify a few of them here and there.

If they did not fit on any of my shelving spaces I would leave them out on the table as conversation pieces, or line them up as display items.

There are enough quad titles from Seals & Crofts for a Quadio boxed set! Considering none of their albums have ever been reissued in high def (in two- or four-channel), I'd say that's a good idea for a new box.

Print quality and the foil jackets are stunners. But I simply buy 1/2 of the titles that I would normally buy due to the double price point. I can only justify a few of them here and there.

The Japanese Yen is so weak against the $ right now you would be wise to take advantage now.

I'm getting a marmite feeling about the Sony Japan 7" SACD packaging. People appear to either love it or hate it. (If you don't know what marmite is look it up. I hate the stuff.)
Mmm..... Marmite in a 7" jar ..... perfect!! 😁

I must say that I really like the Sony SACD albums especially as they are such fantastic mini replicas of the original LP covers that I already have. I have found that as I get older I am not as tall as I was so there is a real parallel there but very questionable whether I can match the quality!

One of the reasons for me to buy my first SACD compatible player - two weeks ago! - was the discovery of the 7" SACD's. I do not plan to collect them but have already bought two of my favourite albums of all time (Toto IV and The Stranger). Love them! Sad that 52nd Street seems to not be available anymore, hope to come accross an affordable copy of that one in the near future. Considering Tapestry, not too bothered about the other ones that are currently available. Hoping for more Billy Joel and Toto (although I don't think any other Toto albums were mixed in 5.1 back then?). Some Bruce Springsteen perhaps?

Sony Japan, MoFi, Dutton-Vocalion... now that you’ve opened the door to SACDs I wish you well in restraining yourself with all the great titles that are available.

Look for a copy of Billy Joel Streetlife Serenade too. Its also quite worthy.

Springsteen's Devils and Dust came out on dualdisc. I don't have it, but I read the mix is very poor.
