This thread inspired me to dig out the DVD-A files on my HDD and take a look.

Here's Dazed And Confused.
Yes, the fronts are rather loud in places- I'm not an engineer or a mastering expert at all, so I don't know if this is really a bad thing or not.
The center looks nonexistent, but actually has dry vocals that sound neat if you crank it up (some interest comments from Neil Wilkes regarding tweaking of this mix here https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/foru...l=1#post142411). If this really is a mistake I wonder if it will be fixed on the new reissue.
The LFE channel- At first, I though this is yet another one of those 5.1 mixes with full-range content in the LFE channel. However, I solo'd it and it sounds like there really is just bass and a bit of drum bleed- it's just seriously cranked up.
Aside from the guitar panning around a bit this is an ambient mix...I love Zep and this is a great performance, but it's just not my kind of surround disc. I picked up the DVD-A for pretty cheap at a record store a few years back. I would spring for the new disc ONLY if it had a new mix, which is highly unlikely.
Still, for the Zep fans who missed the DVD-A and don't mind an ambient mix, this is worth checking out. Very nice of them to offer a standalone Blu-Ray.
