Next year (2016), I hope to get a high-end record cleaning machine. Until then, I'll continue with my DiscKit, and use the Discwasher without it's fluid. I like the Dishwasher, but never liked the fluid, even though I sold literally tens of thousands of the things.

In the meantime, check out the SpinClean...I actually use one of those before cleaning again on a Nitty Gritty. The SpinClean is straightforward and inexpensive.

Well...I couldn't get enough nostalgia...so back to my time machine(DVR) and I'm watching The Buddy Holly Story...this film was made in 1978..which was 19 years after his death... and Gary Busey did a great job as Buddy Holly...

Although it has always been claimed there are many inaccuracies in that movie, I have always liked it. The opening scenes at the roller rink are wonderful and really create the feeling of the excitement when rock and roll was young. To hear that for the first time...

I had the 45 of this from new when it was released but a few years ago it just disappeared and I have no idea what happened to it. :(

Hello all.

In a rural town here in Colombia (of all places), during my Easter time-off (not an usual event), having a Margarita, I discovered Johnny Adams.

Where had this guy been all my life?

Enjoy your time off and of course the margaritas...

I'm sitting here listening to a Mobile fidelity compact disc of Todd Rundgren's Somthing/Anything. Right now, I'm on track 9 and my ears are bleeding, figureitly speaking. The treble on these discs are something horrible. It's a shame too because it's one of his best albums.

I'm on disc 2. Listening to "Couldn't I Just Tell You" brings back memories of when I was a kid growing up in Chicago. I Used to frequent this bar called the Fat Black Pussycat on Broadway with my best friend with which his Father managed and I used to play that Todd Rundgren song on the jukebox every time we went there, which was a lot, and sometimes a couple of times a day.

Pablo, Hello! :D Where the heck ya been?

I assume you mean the Johnny Adams of "Reconsider Me" (fine version; Elvis covered it too) and dozens of other fine 45's (and a handful of albums). Like too many southern singers, unfairly forgotten, but that's what recording on various indie labels can do to you. Very underrated, IMO.

Old buddy, shoot me a PM if you're in the mood.

ED :)

I have the Mobile Fidelity vinyl of this one which I really like the sound of.

I'm rocking out to the ZOMBIES SACD Greatest Hits...well...maybe not rocking out...more like "head bobbing" to the music...but I like it...nice disc...you can crank this puppy up and no ear bleeding on this one...nice vintage recording...just love She's Not There...what a song...if I mentioned the name Rod Argent I bet most people wouldn't even know who he was or that he was the driving force behind the Zombies..

That's the one. It was playing from an iPod in a hotel/bar/watchtower and it immediately caught my ear. Love at first hearing.

I deeply enjoy it when I find a new (for me!) artist I really, really like. Not an usual event.

Next Amazon/ebay purchase (this month!) will include a couple of his albums.

Old buddy, shoot me a PM if you're in the mood.

Although not the Zombies, Argent formed a new group as the Zombies were breaking up. Both original UK and US covers of Nexus, IMHO their best album:

If you like the Zombies, check out the "Zombie Heaven" box. Has the original mono mixes of the old singles, which in some cases have overdubs that are missing from their stereo counterparts.

Of course, we all know this tune...and no, I don't ever get tired of it....just a super jam.
