Listening now--sounds good. I get terrific results playing her soundtrack to the game "Sable" through the Dolby Surround upmixer setting on my AVR.
I’ve been meaning to get around to Sable but I’ve been distracted. I have it via Xbox Game Pass for PC, need to find a good solution to stream it to my TV (a thousand solutions out there, all with their own upsides and downsides)

No I dont have it. I'll have to check it out! thanks for the heads up!

Well, I can actually answer my own question: in the US, anyway, this record is licensed to David Byrne's label, Luaka Bop, which has a Bandcamp store. So last week, on Bandcamp Friday, I added this to my cart, and it came today.

It's pretty fascinating, in concept as much as in execution, maybe more so. The music was actually recorded outdoors, in Joshua Tree National Park, and the surround mix incorporates environmental reverb of the band's amplified sound, bird calls, and "the undulating sound of wind rushing between rock formations and nearby bushes." (Talk about "ambient" music!) They used mics placed at different distances from the speakers, a parabolic "directional" mic moving around the nearby space, and on one track, a flanger. Some of it is cool and organic, some of it a little forced and gimmicky. The music overall is proggy in an early Pink Floyd way, but has lots in common with other, more contemporary ambient/electronic stuff, too. Once in a while it recalls a Yo La Tengo jam. The 5.1 mix (by Joel Rubel and Jack Sugden--names I've not seen elsewhere) is Dolby Digital, and it sometimes has a certain "thin," slightly harsh quality you can get with DD. Glad I bought it, though. I actually want to see what my AVR's Dolby Surround upmixer can do with the stereo mix.

(Sorry this is somewhat off-topic for this thread!)

A new addition in Tidal from a Latvian drums and bagpipes band called Auli (album is called Visapkart). You have to like folklore music, but this is a very accessible record and the Atmos mix is fantastic. Some insights about the album and mix here:

Listening to a John Williams: The Berlin Concert.

Sounds pretty darned good!
Received the Pure Audio version Blu-ray discs today. I find there to be a significant increase in sound quality when compared to the lossy version available on Tidal.

It's also nice to hear Mr Williams introduce the orchestra and his music.

Been exploring TOTALLY new music- in particular the C-Pop playlist.

Found some songs and artists that I was pleasantly surprised with.

Recommend that folks listen to the below album of Chinese Beatles Fans: Oaeen.

Their album 池堂怪談 (don't ask me to pronounce it) is in Atmos ('Mando-Pop' genre), and I reckon it's pretty good indeed:

https://music.apple.com/au/album/我就是個樸實無華的bass手/1585637578?I=1585639517.

The first two tracks blend seamlessly together, and I have added track 我就是個樸實無華的Bass手 by Oaeen

to my playlist.

These guys create a whole new genre of pop music with their somewhat Avant-garde approach.

It anyone is concerned about the language barrier, my response to this is that I own two Opeth albums and the lyrics are far more intelligible than those on these albums.

For those wishing too woo their missus on Valentines certainly recommend popping this album on for the day, that has just dropped on Apple Music:

I have listened to most of the album and the sonics and mix are very good. Clearly a great lyricist when it comes to singing on matters from the heart.
