OK, I just found my original order - $22.99 Amazon in 2009! Not bad for the time...

It would be interesting to learn how Apple Corp and shareholders determined pricing for the Sgt Peppers release. Is this like the most expensive mainstream (non-boxset) music release ever???

Aqualung same price range one album 1 vinyl 4 Disc's...... I only have the Blu-Ray from that set and may be doing the same with the Sgt.Peppers.

For sh*ts and giggles, we should start a betting pool on HOW LOW the upcoming Sgt. Pepper boxset will go for before it levels out.

My guesstimate is $80!:yikes

Uh, where did you hear that?
Almost every legitimate source I have read only mentions a standard 5.1 surround mix, nothing about Atmos.
Giles said it at one of the listening events he has hosted lately. I read about it on SHF.

I saw those - haha, pretty cool looking. :)

I don't own it but see that the Beatles LOVE deluxe DVD-A includes 4-5 tracks from Sgt. Pepper in 5.1. How good are the sonics on the LOVE DVD-A? How different will these tracks be from the upcoming bluray of Pepper (obviously it's the whole album this time), but have they remixed them yet again for multichannel or just repackaging?

The new "Sgt Pepper" 5.1 mix definitely will not be the same as "Love".
"Love" is a unique album where almost every song on the album mixes in recorded elements from other Beatles songs in a 'mashup' style, and it's one of the best 5.1 surround DVD-A/V discs that has ever been released!

:)

Ok, thanks. I had not heard the Love DVD-A before and wasn't sure what the content included.

My pre-order finger is twitching again. It's a pricy release especially for the non-collector, but I guess when you do the math; 6 discs for $120 assuming US currency, that's $20 a pop. Along with the packaging, movie, booklet, posters and bragging rights when you're the first kid on the block to get the new Sgt Pepper's release. It ain't so bad....

Within You, Without You in 5.1 on a decent system will be pretty cool.

If I've learned anything over the years, 'bragging rights' are somewhat delusional. Among all my friends, none of them are into surround music and they could care less if I obtain Sgt. Pepper day and date of release. I'm going to stick to MY guns this time and await firsthand from the always reliable QQ posters whether the 5.1 remix is worth the fuss .... and expense. TOO many surround releases today are disappointing and since I'm really not interested in the RBCDs my main concern is for the 5.1 BD~A remix.

If it turns out to be of the same high caliber remix as the LOVE DVD~A.....then it's a definite MUST HAVE purchase, hands down!
